LEARN THE ART OF BUILDING GUITARS
Redeem your Acoustic Rewards for personal or video building lessons at O'Brien Guitars. Robbie has personally supervised the building of well over 600 guitars made by students in Colorado, from teenagers to retirees. Use your gift cards for a wide selection of video courses. Each video lesson contains high quality video and audio with very detailed instructions. It is like actually being in the O’Brien Guitars workshop as Robert works.
On-site guitar building classes with various instructors
The Marc Adams School of Woodworking offers many classes on acoustic instrument making. Check out the website for more info and use your Acoustic Rewards to apply towards any of these great classes. But hurry, classes fill up fast.
If you're going to build professionally, we're the school for you.
Ours is a carefully-planned program where you’ll start from scratch by learning the basics. You’ll also build instruments designed by Bryan Galloup specifically to teach and challenge you.
We have three main programs: our Master Program (24 weeks), our Journeyman Program (8 weeks), and our Technician Program (4 days). All teach more than wood working skills: we want you to have a practical education to use in earning a living, so we include information on setting up and managing your own guitar shop.
45 minutes one-on-one lessons with Michael Watts
Michael specializes in touch, tone creation, expressive playing and is more than happy to look in detail at anything he's written. Lessons are 45 minutes! Don't miss this wonderful opportunity to get some private time with one of the best.
For those who truly enjoy music and gear of all stripes
The Fretboard Journal is an archival-quality, quarterly publication celebrating all things guitar (and other fretted instruments). In each issue, we dig deep into the nooks and crannies of the music and gear world, interviewing both legendary players and the innovators of today. It’s been called a “guitar magazine for grown-ups.”
